  How to buy new software license?

          Step 1: Download / install the software

Step 4: Make payment and send details

Go to Help’ menu in the software click ‘Buy now’. You can make payment through three methods:

·         Online Payment (You can check whether the payment is successful or not, using Help’ menu Login to Winman website)

·         Deposit in e-Banking branch (click on picture for Bank details)

·         Send cheque directly to the Company

In case of last two methods, send the details of payment to us using Help’ menu ‘Send Payment Details’. Alternatively, you can send the payment details to us using Help’ menu Query manager’.

Step 5: Register the software

In case of online payment, registration will be done immediately.

            Otherwise, the time lag for registration is 3 days (time required to process the transaction):

Deposit in e-Banking Branch                  : from date of collection

Cheque sent to Company                      : from date of receipt of cheque

If registration key is not received within above mentioned time lag, please send a query using ‘Query manager’ tool under Help menu or click on  picture.

Step 6: View status of your transaction / Download e-Invoice

Stages of processing of your transaction/order like receipt of cheque, collection of cheque, issue of e-invoice, registration ready message, etc. will be shown in the software automatically through our web-message service. To read these messages in future, go to Help menu Winman’s Messages’.

After processing your transaction, a link to download the digitally signed e-invoice will be sent through our web-message. However, you can download the e-invoice later using Help menu ‘Download Invoice’.

Step 7: Any queries / doubts

If you have any queries/doubts, send us the same through online ‘Query manager’ tool provided in the software. Go to Help menu ‘Query manager’ or click on  picture.

  Basic architectural/registration details of the software:

Winman’s software is desktop application. As backend database, software uses Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL server.

The software uses file system for data storage. All the data entered in the software will be saved in individual files like ‘.tax’ / ‘.wgst’, etc. which are similar to MS Word & Excel files.

The software has two types of licenses, i.e., Desktop license and Server license. 

Desktop license:

·         The software will be installed in each PC, depending on the no. of license.

·         Users can configure the software to save all the data in a common data-path folder or can have an individual/separate data-path.

·         Users can also access the software over LAN by sharing the installed folder. However, simultaneously only one user can use the software in this type of license.

Server license:

·         Only single instance of the software will be installed in the server or any existing PC.

·         The software can be accessed by clients over LAN using network share or via Terminal Services (like Remote Desktop, Thin Client, etc.). Any client PC which is connected to same LAN where the server resides can access the software through network share without installing the software locally on client PC.

·         In Server license, a common data-path folder is set for all users. Data saved by all users will be stored in this common data-path folder. Users cannot use different data path in this type of license.

·         Here, software can be accessed by many users simultaneously, depending on license count.

·         To use the software over LAN using network share, folder in which the software is installed should be shared over network with full permission to all users or specific windows user group. Once shared, those users can open the software directly using the link or shortcut provided.

·         Here, access to the software and data is controlled using the windows folder sharing and folder security.

Note (applicable for both Desktop and Server license):

By default, Winman CA-ERP, GST or TDS uses MS Access database for storing backend data & reports (some data are saved here for reporting purpose, but actual data is saved in individual files such as '.tax', '.wgst', etc. separately). However, if more than 10 users use the software simultaneously, Microsoft SQL server is required. Around 10 Databases will be created in this SQL server. All users who use the software should have full permission to this SQL server.

  How to download the invoice?

Go to Help menu ‘Download Invoice’.

Note:

·         After processing your transaction, a link to download the digitally signed e-invoice will be sent through our web-message within 3 days from the date of receipt of the cheque/DD (or date of credit). Also a copy of the invoice will be sent to your email ID which is registered in our record.

·         Option to download invoice is given only for registered copy of the Software having serial number.

To generate pro-forma invoice, go to Help’ menu ‘Buy now’ / ‘Renew now’ click ‘Pro-forma Invoice’.

  How to send the details of payment made towards the purchase / renewal of the software?

Go to ‘Help’ menu ‘Send Payment Details’. Once the payment details are received, immediately the registration or renewal key will be released.

Note: Not required in case of e-payment. Only if payment is made through Deposit in e-Banking branch or if cheque is directly sent to us, then, payment details have to be sent to Winman using the above tool.

  How to check the transaction status of payment made through software towards purchase / renewal?

Go to Help 'Login to Winman website' 'Transaction details'.

  How can I make online payment to Winman CA-ERP?    OR    Procedure of online payment.    OR    How to make the payment towards purchase / renewal of the software?

  Go to ‘Help’ menu in the software Buy now’/ ‘Renew now’ fill the details in ‘e-Purchase’ window and click ‘Pay On-line’

  If your Winman online login password is not available in the software database, you will be asked to enter your e-mail ID and Winman online login password.

  Now, you will be connected to ‘Winman’s Online Payment’ page.

Note: A new payment gateway ‘NTT DATA payment services’ has been added for online payment. NTT DATA default gateway option is available for debit card and HDFC net banking.

  Where do I get Bank Account details of Winman?    OR    How to make Offline Payment?

To know the bank details & payment steps (for payment through deposit), go to ‘Help’ menu Renew now’/‘Buy now’ and click on   icon.

  I am not able to make online Payment to Winman.    OR    My Debit card / Credit card / Bank name is not found in the list to make online payment.

In below mentioned cases, you will not be able to make online payment using a particular e-payment gateway:

  If you are using an older version of browser

  If your Debit card / Credit card / Bank is not accepted by them

In such cases, click on Winman’s logo given at the top of ‘Winman’s Online Payment’ page select alternative e-payment gateway and proceed.

  After making online payment, the amount has been debited to my bank account. But I have not received the successful message.

Sometimes, though amount is debited from your account, you may not receive the successful message in website. The said situation arises due to break in connection between the three websites. This may happen due to:

  Error in your internet connection

  Error in website of the bank or e-payment gateway

  Closing of webpage before receiving payment successful message

If there is an interruption in communication between the websites, we will get confirmation of payment only after 1-2 days. In such cases, if you try to make another payment, it may result in double payment. As soon as we receive the confirmation message, we will inform the same to you through Winman's message which will be displayed in the software.

If amount is debited to your account but confirmation message is not received, you can send a query using ‘Query manager’ or click on  icon.

We will check and once the confirmation is received, we will send a reply to you.

Winman’s online payment process is as follows:

Step 1: Amount payable is computed in the software

Step 2: You will be navigated to an e-payment gateway’s website

Step 3: If you opt to make payment through net banking, e-payment gateway will lead you to your Bank’s website

Step 4: The transaction result will be conveyed by respective bank to e-payment gateway and in turn, it will be conveyed to us by e-payment gateway

Step 5: Now, transaction successful / failure message will be shown to you.

Thus, three websites, i.e. Winman website, e-payment gateway website and your Bank's website, will interact with each other. If the chain of events between websites takes place without interruption, the e-payment successful message will be shown.

  I have sent the cheque through courier. But my software is not yet registered or renewed.

As soon as we receive the cheque, Winman's message will be displayed in the software with details of amount received. Further, the registration or renewal key will be released immediately.

However, if the software is not registered within the expected time (i.e., delivery time required for courier service), please send a query with details of cheque. We will check our records and reply.

  How to open more than 10 year old tax files?    OR    Old software download request

  Install old software in a other system where present Winman software is not installed.

  If don’t have other PC – then, Install old software in a new path where present Winman software is not installed.

  For installation please download the setup.exe file mentioned below.

  After download complete, please double click and install in new path.

  After installation, before opening the software, please rename the "update" folder from the application and Ref path. To open the old software for the first time, rename the "dpBatch.txt" file in the "Datapath\Otherdata" folder.

  Open old software, Go to ‘Tools’ --> Change Data-path --> All files in current data-path will shift, Do you want to continue?  --> Click on ‘No’.

Note: When shifting the old software DP to a new path, don’t move it to the path that already exists or has been created. (Winman_data/ Tax Data).

  Copy old AY files from main data-path to old AY data-path.

  Create software shortcut in Desktop for Latest and old Copy. For Old AY shortcut rename as Winman CA ERP_Old.

  e-Returns allowed means only XML/JSON can be generated

  Online features will not work in Old software.

  Options to register the software as required for 'Work From Home':

To work from home, there are registration options through which the data can be accessed from anywhere. The options are listed below, find suitable option and follow the same for registration.

For Desktop registration:

  If using the same Computer in Office & Home:

The PC in which Winman software is installed and having desktop registration is to be taken to work from home. If required to set common data-path then, refer the topic “Centralized Online (Cloud based) Data-path” given at the end.

 

  If using the Personal Computer (i.e. not used in office):

  If office PC/server is accessible:

If your personal computer has access to office PC/server (i.e. through VPN, VDI, Remote desktop-terminal services, etc.), then existing desktop licence can be converted to server licence. If license converted from desktop to server license then, multiple users can access software based on licence count. Software working speed depends on the server access speed from home.

 

Convert desktop to server license:

·         If data exist in different PC, then merge those Data to server path. (To know more refer FAQ “How to set common data-path for all the copies of the software?”)

·         Surrender all the desktop licence and send 'Surrender code' to Winman through Query Manager’.

 

  If office PC/server is NOT accessible:

If personal laptop/desktop is used to work from home, then surrender the licence in existing PC and re-register the software in the PC in which you want to work using the surrender code. (To know more, refer FAQ: - search “How to surrender the license before formatting / shifting the software?”)

 

For Server registration:

  Accessing Office PC/server from home: If office PC/server is accessible from home through VPN, VDI, Remote desktop (terminal services) etc., then you can work from home in office PC itself. Software working speed depends on the server access (Internet) speed from home.

 

  If using Personal Computer (i.e. not used in office): If personal laptop/desktop is used to work from home, then convert Server Licence to Desktop, surrender all the licence in existing Server PC and send ‘Surrender code’ through ‘Query Manager’. (To know more, refer FAQ: - search “How to surrender the license before formatting / shifting the software?”)

 

Centralized Online (Cloud based) Data-path:

You can store all your files including CA-ERP/TDS/GST files in a secure online server and access it from any computer anywhere in the world through Internet. In simple words, cloud storage. (To know more, refer FAQ: - search “How to save Winman Data in Cloud?”)

Note:

·         In all cloud based application, there are chances in duplication of files as more than one person can edit data simultaneously. This is a drawback of cloud based applications and is not related to Winman.

·         Winman Data can be kept in cloud, but Software cannot be installed on cloud as it is desktop application designed to run on Windows OS.

 

 

 

 

Updation

 


  How to update the software?

Auto-update: If you are connected to internet, the software will automatically check and download the update from the Winman website once in every hour. A message will be shown after the download process is complete. Go to ‘Help’ menu ‘Install Update’.

Emergency Update: Update will be downloaded automatically in case of Emergency update. However, the PC should have internet connection.

In this case, if software is closed, a message will be given to install the update while opening the software again. If update is not installed, software cannot be opened.

PC not having Internet:

Step 1: Download the updates using the website links given below.

Winman CA-ERP & GST updates: click here                  Winman TDS updates: click here

Step 2: Copy the downloaded file to the PC where software is to be updated (or PC having no access to internet) and double click to install the file.

  How to update the software immediately?

To download/install the update yourself, go to the ‘Help’ menu ‘Download update’. However, the PC should have internet connection.

  I have received an update pop-up message. What should I do?

The software is constantly updated by us. It is done either to incorporate necessary changes in law or to make improvements in the Software or to provide value added features.

If you are connected to internet, the software will be monitoring our website for latest updates every hour. If update is available, the same will be notified by showing the message. Click on the ‘Update’ button in the message to download and install the update.

To check for the updates instantly, go to ‘Help’ ‘Download update’.

  How to check whether my software copy is up-to-date or not?

Software will automatically check the updation status on opening the software first time in a day. Thereafter, a picture indicating the updation status will be shown in the top-right portion of the ‘Home’ page as shown below;

- If software is up-to-date/Download of update is in progress

-If software is not up-to-date/Update downloaded but not installed/ Download incomplete/No Internet connection (click on the picture to update the software).

If software is not up-to-date, then software will start downloading the updates automatically. On completion of the download, a message will appear.

Alternatively, at the time of opening the software next time, if downloaded updates are available, installation will take place.

If you want to check for updates which are published today, you have to click the picture representing the updation status or go to 'Help' menu 'Download update'.

The updation process is independent in each PC.

 

 

Renewal

  How to renew the software?    OR    How to get the renewal registration key?

  Go to Help’ menu ‘Buy now’ / ‘Renew now’

  Click ‘Pay On-line’ to make payment through credit/debit cards or e-banking.

  Auto-registers instantly

  Download e-invoice after 3 days (using Help’ menu Download Invoice’).

  How to upgrade the software along with Renewal?

To upgrade software along with renewal,

Open the existing registered copy of the software, go to ‘Help’ menu ‘Buy now’/‘Renew now’.

·         For CA-ERP, select ‘Premium’ in ‘Edition’ column

·         For TDS, select ‘Full’ in ‘Edition’ column.

  Click ‘Pay On-line’ to make payment through credit/debit cards or e-banking.

  Automatic e-registration is done instantly

  Download e-invoice after 3 days (using ‘Help’ menu Download Invoice’).

  How to do renewal registration after making payment?   OR   How to get Renewal registration key?

Go to ‘Help’ menu ‘Renewal Registration Online’.

If any PC is not having internet connection, then please contact Winman Customer care. For our contact details, go to ‘Help’ menu ‘Contact Us’.

Note: Software will get auto-registered if there is internet connection while opening the software.

  I have both main and additional licenses. Can I renew only few of the additional licenses?    OR    Can I renew only main license without renewing additional licenses?

Yes. Additional licenses which are not renewed will be cancelled automatically and you cannot renew them later on. If you need additional licenses later, you need to buy them as fresh which will cost more than renewal price.

To renew, go to Help menu ‘Renew now’. In ‘e-Purchase’ window edit the value in ‘Qty’ column as per your requirement and proceed.

  I have Winman CA-ERP, Winman GST and Winman TDS software. Can I renew only Winman CA-ERP / Winman TDS / Winman GST license?

Yes. Winman CA-ERP or Winman TDS license can be renewed individually as per your requirement.

To do so, go to ‘Help’ menu Renew now’. In ‘e-Purchase’ window, delete the value from ‘Qty’ column for the license for which renewal is not required and proceed.

However, Winman GST license cannot be renewed individually if it is an add-on with Winman CA-ERP license.

  How can I purchase Winman GST software while doing renewal of Winman CA-ERP / TDS software    OR    How to purchase Winman GST software independently?

To purchase Winman GST software,

·         Go to Help menu Renew now / Buy now’

For Winman CA-ERP users:

·         In Price list Qty column, tick the checkbox given against ‘GST Add-on to CA-ERP’.

 

For Winman TDS / Winman GST users:

·         In Price list Qty column, tick the checkbox given against ‘GST Stand-alone.

  How to check renewal price in the software?    OR    What is the renewal price of the software?    OR    I want to know the renewal price of the software.

To know your renewal price, go to Help menu ‘Renew now’.

  I have both Winman TDS and Winman GST software. Can I renew only Winman TDS / Winman GST license? (not available in Winman CA-ERP)

Yes. Winman GST or Winman TDS license can be renewed individually as per your requirement.

To do so, go to Help menu Renew now. In ‘e-Purchase’ window, delete the value from Qty column for the license for which renewal is not required and proceed.

  Software is asking for renewal even though it is not been a year since I Purchased Winman Software (CAERP/GST/TDS).     OR    What is the renewal period of software?   

Renewal of the software is based on the Assessment Year / Financial year as applicable (i.e. 1st April to 31st March); and not based on calendar year or from the date of purchase of software.

 

 

 

Additional software in another PC

  What is Additional License? What are the conditions for purchasing Additional License?

The First License purchased for use in one local area network is Primary License. Subsequent Licenses purchased for use in the same local area network as that of Primary License are Additional Licenses. Points to be noted while purchasing Additional license:

o    Both Additional license and Primary license should be used in the same premises and same LAN only.

o    Additional license cannot be used in a branch office, extension office or a branch called by any other name (even if located within the same building or floor), unless a separate primary license is purchased.

o    Additional licenses can be used in Laptops and the same can be taken out to an office of the client or residence.

o    Additional license should be used only by the partner/employee of the User and not by third parties.

o    Additional license should not be used in any place of practice other than the premises for which primary license is purchased.

  How to purchase additional license along with renewal?

Go to ‘Help’ menu ‘Renew now’. Now, in the e-Purchase window, along with renewal details enter the quantity of ‘New’, ‘Additional’ licenses, you want to purchase, in the ‘Qty’ column.

  How to get the registration key when additional license is purchased along with renewal?    OR    How to register the software after making payment towards additional software?    OR     How to register the unregistered copy of the software after renewal key release?

Go to 'Help' menu in the software Registration select 'Online' option enter 6 or 8 digit serial number of existing software copy against ‘I have Surrender key/ Access Code’ click on ‘Register’. 

             

Note: In Winman CA-ERP, serial number is given in top-right of Home page, whereas in Winman TDS, serial number is given at bottom-right of Home page.

However, if the PC is not connected to internet, go to 'Help' menu Registration. Note down the Computer key. Now, open CA-ERP in the internet connected PC and send the noted Computer key to us through 'Query manager' tool in 'Help' menu or click on  picture.

  How to register new additional license   (For Server Registration)?

To register new additional license, open the software from the PC in which server copy of the software is installed. Go to 'Help' menu 'Add License'.

  How to get the registration key when additional license is purchased along with renewal in case of server license?

To register the additional license along with renewal for server license, go to Help menu in the software Add License.

  I have CAERP and GST software license. I wish to have one more GST software in my PC. So how can I get only GST software as additional?

If you want to purchase Winman GST additional license, you need to purchase Winman CA-ERP additional license too. As you are having ‘GST Add-on to CA-ERP’ license, you will get free additional licenses equal to the number of Winman CA-ERP additional licenses that you hold.

However, if you want to purchase Winman GST license separately, you can purchase ‘GST Stand-alone’ license. To purchase ‘GST Stand-alone’, mention the same and send the Computer key through ‘Query manager tool in 'Help' menu of the software or click on  icon from a PC with internet connection. In this way, you can buy additional licenses for the GST main license that you have purchased.

  I want to install one more copy of the software.    OR    I want to buy additional license of the software.    OR    How to install additional software?    OR    How to make payment towards purchase of Additional software?    OR    How to obtain the license to another PC?

For additional software price/payment:

Step1: In the registered software copy, go to 'Help' menu Buy now’.

Step2: In the e-Purchase window, enter the quantity of New Additional licenses you want to purchase, in the ‘Qty’ column.

Step3: Click on ‘Pay On-line’ to make payment through net banking or credit/debit cards.

Registration after making payment:

Step1: To know the download / install procedure of the software, click here.

Step 2: Go to 'Help' menu Registration select 'Online' enter 6 or 8 digit serial number of existing software copy against ‘I have Surrender key/Access Code’ click on ‘Register’.

However, if the PC is not having the internet connection, go to 'Help' menu Registration. Note down the Computer key. Send the Computer key through ‘Query manager tool in 'Help' menu of the software or click on  picture from PC in which internet is available.

Note: You can open any number of files in the same PC with a single license (go to 'File' menu   ‘Open another CA-ERP’ or ‘Open Last AY file’).

  I want to transfer only GST software to different PC    OR    I want to use CA-ERP and GST in different PC’s

On purchase of 'GST- Add-on to Winman CA-ERP' license, each Winman CA-ERP additional license is entitled for an add-on Winman GST license.

For CA-ERP existing customer, GST software cost is given at discounted price. Therefore, 'GST- Add-on to Winman CA-ERP' license cannot be installed in any PC independently.

If any one of software is required for different PC, then buy additional licenses of Winman CA-ERP where both CA-ERP and GST license registration will be done. Hence, either you can use CA-ERP or GST software individually in different PC.

Data Path

 


  In which folder the data / files are stored by the software?     OR    How can I know the default data-path in the software?

To know the data-path,

  In Winman CA-ERP / Winman GST, go to ‘View’ menu ‘View Data-path’.

  In Winman TDS, go to ‘Tools’ menu ‘Others’ ‘View Data-path’.

You can change this data-path, if necessary. For detailed procedure, click here.

Note: It is not possible to change the data-path of Winman GST separately. As it is saved within data-path of CA-ERP, you can change the data-path of CA-ERP, if required.

 

  How to change the Data-path?     OR     I want to save all the files in the server.

Please note, by following the below mentioned procedure, your existing data will not be lost.

To change Data-path,

Press F7 key or go to ‘Tools’ menu Change Data-path

In the ‘Data Path’ tab, click ‘Browse’ button select the drive and folder where files need to be saved. Alternatively, you can just paste the required path in the box below the text ‘Select/enter Data Folder Location’.

To change the data-path to a network PC,

After clicking 'Browse' as shown in the above picture, click 'Network' and select required PC name select a drive and folder.

          

Auto-shifting of Data-path: On changing data-path in one copy of the software, data-path of all other copies having the common data-path will also be changed to the new data-path. To auto-set the new data-path immediately, open and close all other copies of the software. Keep the parent folder of the old data-path accessible until you open all copies of the software.

Please note in case of network PC, the drive can be set as data-path only if it is shared. Click here to know the sharing procedure.

 

  How to set common data-path for all the copies of the software?

To set common data-path, press F7 key or go to ‘Tools’ menu ‘Change Data-path’ – select the path.

In ‘View Data Path’ tab, the path of the folder in which data/files are stored by the software will be shown. Check whether this path is same in all the copies of the software. If not, set a common folder (i.e., a particular folder in a particular PC) as data-path for all the copies of the software.

  All the copies of the software are having common data-path. How to set separate data-path for one copy of the software?

Press ‘F7’ or go to the ‘Tools’ menu ‘Change Data-path’ (or click ‘Options’). In ‘Data Path’ tab,the address of the folder in which data/files are stored by the software will be shown.

To set separate data-path, click on ‘Browse’ select blank folder.

Note: Settings made earlier (using ‘Tools’ menu ‘Settings’) will not be available in new data-path as the same will be reset to default settings in new data-path. The data-path set in Winman CA-ERP will be automatically updated in Winman GST.

  How to set common data-path while installing for first time?

While installing the software for the first time you can set required path as common data-path. Thereafter, this path will be automatically set as data-path for all the copies of the software. To do so:

Step 1: Download the ‘SetupSettings.txt’ (Right click on the link click ‘Save target as’)

Step 2: Mention the required data-path in the downloaded ‘SetupSettings.txt’ file,

                 Ex:<Winman><DataPath>\\pc113\d\Winman_Data\Tax Data</DataPath></Winman>

Please note that the mentioned path should be shared and accessible with full permission. Click here to know the sharing procedure.

Step 3: Copy this ‘SetupSettings.txt’ file to folder in which the ‘Setup.exe’ file is stored.

Step 4: Double click ‘Setup.exe’ file and install the software.

 

  How to set or change Data-path / Backup path of Winman CA-ERP/GST/TDS?

  To change the backup path if only GST is installed, click here.

Note: When both CA-ERP & GST are installed in PC, it is not possible to set separate Data-path/Backup path for Winman GST, it will be same as that of CA-ERP. If there is a need to change, you can change the same in CA-ERP.

  Winman CA-ERP / TDS file is not found in data-path. How to search the same in backup path / other folders?

Using Advanced Search option, you can search & restore a file from data-path, backup path or any other folders. To search,

  Go to ‘Tools’ menu Advanced Search of files

  In appearing window, enter necessary details & click ‘Search’ button.

  Select required file appearing under ‘Search result’ & open the file/folder or copy the file using buttons given in bottom of the window as per your requirement.

Please note,

·         If multiple files with same name, PAN/TAN, modified date & size exist, then search result will be shown in single row.

To view or select those files, click the dropdown picture appearing in 'Modified date'/'Folder Path' columns under ‘Search result’.

·         All the data saved by the users will be saved in the user's PC/server itself. The data is not synchronized with Winman servers.

In case of Winman CA ERP, even after using above feature if file is not found, you can download & import data from ITR e-return files. Click here for the procedure.

 

 

Back-up / Restore

 

  How to take back-up of data in the software?

To avoid inconvenience arising due to accidental loss of data, the data is backed up automatically by the software using the following Back-up mechanisms:

1)    Auto-Recovery

Auto-recovery feature in the software backs up the current working file at five minutes interval, till the file is saved. Therefore, you need not save the file frequently due to fear of losing unsaved data. If there is an abrupt shutdown of PC due to power failure or any problem in PC, then, next time when the software is opened, you will be given an option to save the file in which you were entering data earlier.

2)    Winman’s Mirror Back-up

Every time the software is closed, back-up of the files modified by the user during that session is taken and stored in Winman's mir bkup folder. This folder is created in other than ‘C’ drive & the drive where the software is installed. Thus, this folder contains back-up of files which were modified in that PC.

3)    Periodic Auto Back-up

Here, auto back-up of files is taken at periodic intervals and stored by the software in Winman_backup folder in ‘D’ drive by default. It is advisable to change the back-up destination path to a network PC to avoid loss of data on account of hard disk failure. To change the destination path and frequency of back-up, go to ‘Tools’ menu ‘Periodic Auto Backup’ select the destination path and choose ‘Daily’, ‘Weekly’ or ‘Monthly’. (Note: To change backup path for only GST users, click here.)

However, if 10 or more files are modified within the period, then the back-up takes place even if the period is not completed. This is done to ensure safety of data during peak season.

To facilitate you to get back-up of previous version of files, data is backed up and saved in 4 buckets namely ‘buck1’, ‘buck2’, ‘buck3’ and ‘buck4’. ‘buck1’ folder always contains the latest version of the backed up files. Whereas ‘buck2’, ‘buck3’ and ‘buck4’ contains the back-up of previous version of the backed up files.

4)    External Back-up (not available in Winman TDS)

It is advisable to take back-up of files in external storage device like CD/DVD/Pen drive/portable hard disk at periodic intervals to ensure safety of data. Therefore, the software reminds and assists you to take external back-up of data at periodic intervals. To set, go to ‘Tools’ menu ‘Periodic Auto Backup’. Click on ‘External Backup’.

  How to take backup in external devices?    OR    Why you should save your Winman data externally?

It is recommended to back up files to an external storage device, such as a CD/DVD, pen drive, or portable hard disk, at regular intervals to ensure data safety. To help with this, the software reminds and assists you in performing periodic external backups.

In the event of major PC issues, such as hard disk corruption or the need to format the system, there is a significant risk of data loss, making it essential to back up data externally; therefore, we recommend backing up your data on external devices to avoid such consequences.

External backups can be stored in various locations, including an external hard drive, another computer, or a pen drive, to ensure the safety and accessibility of your data.

Note:

1. External backups should not be stored in the same location or disk where Winman data or Winman backup files are already stored to avoid potential data loss or conflicts.

2. If you choose not to create an external backup, you can select the "I don't want external backup" option in the External Backup window.

  How to restore a single file in TDS?    OR    I want to restore a file from backup in TDS software.

Go to Tools menu Others ‘View Data-path’

·         Data-path window will appear, now click on the folder icon (as shown in the picture).

·         Open the folder ‘buck 1’, ‘buck 2’, ‘buck 3’ or ‘buck 4’, which is having the latest modified file. If not found, you may check in any Winman's mir bkup folder present in the system

·         Now, copy the required folder to desktop from required Financial Year

·         Open the copied folder and remove “.wt” extension from all files

(E.g.: If the file name is ‘Super Traders.7EQ.wt’, remove ‘.wt’ from it)

·         Now, copy the main folder (after renaming the old file, if any) from desktop to the required Financial Year folder of the Data path.

(To know the Data-path, go to Tools menu Others ‘View Data-path’).

·         If no Backup is present in the system, you can import the file from e-Return. To know the procedure of how to import the file from e-Return Refer faq “Not able to import the data from FVU file to Winman TDS.”

If the e-Return of the particular is not uploaded, then you restore the file by downloading the Consolidated FVU file and importing the file using Consolidated FVU file. To know the procedure to be followed to import the file using Consolidated FVU file Refer FAQ “How to download Consolidated FVU files using DSC?”

  I want to restore a file from Backup    OR    Some files are missing.    OR    Files are corrupted. How to recover the same?

Restore entire data from backup

In Winman TDS, go to Tools menu Restore backup file.

In Restore From’, browse and select the required folder of backed up files. In ‘Restore To’, select the path where you want to restore the backup data and click ‘Restore’.

In Winman CA-ERP/GST, go to Tools menu Restore All Backup.

In ‘Restore From’, ‘Buck 1’ folder will be selected by default. This folder contains latest version of the backed up files. You can edit the same, Browse and select the required folder. In ‘Restore To, select the path where you want to restore the backup data and click Continue.

Other options available in CA-ERP are:

  If backup of latest version of files are not available in ‘buck1’ folder because of non-completion of backup period, then you may check for 'Winman's mir bkup' folder present in the system. If so, copy all of the folders and paste them in winman_backup\tax\Buck1’. Restore the data using the restore menu.

  To restore data from backup saved in CD/DVD/Pen drive, click on Browse and select the backup folder in CD/DVD/Pen drive.

  If you want to restore previous version of the backed up files, then select ‘buck2’ ‘buck3’ or ‘buck4’ - Oldest’ in ‘Restore’ window.

  You can also restore other data such as MIS data, e-mail login details etc by selecting the option ‘Other Data’ in the Restore window of CA-ERP software.

  Import from JSON / XML files:

If Backup data is not found, you may import data from Previous Year or Current Year JSON / XML files.

To import, go to Tools menu ‘Import from ITR JSON/XML’.

·         Select ‘Download & import’ - to download and import JSON / XML from IT website.

‘XML to Winman file Convertor’ window will appear, select the folder of JSON / XML file, select the Asst. year and click Start.

  While opening the software message appears as, “As there is no sufficient sharing/permission ……. cannot continue the backup process”

This message appears when backup path of the software is not properly updated. Therefore, please set the backup path.

  How to set or change backup path?

To set backup path to local/external drive

Go to the ‘Tools’ menu ‘Periodic Auto Backup’.

          

 

In the ‘Periodic Auto Backup’ tab, address of the folder in which backup files are stored by the software will be shown. Click on ‘Browse’ and select any local or external drive.

You can select any frequency for backup (Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Don’t Backup) as per your preference and click ‘OK’.

To set backup path to network PC/server

Windows 7/8/10:

Go to the ‘Tools’ menu Periodic Auto Backup click on ‘Browse’ click on ‘Network’ select required PC name select the drive   Click ‘OK’.

      

 

Note: Before selecting a network PC for the backup, make sure that the target drive of that PC is shared and you have Read & Write permission for that drive. To know the sharing procedure, click here.

Winman recommends setting back-up path to a network PC and also to take back-up of files in external storage device like CD/DVD/Pen drive/hard disk etc., at periodic intervals to ensure safety of data. Also it is strongly recommended not to set the backup-path in a disk where data is stored.

To change the backup path for only GST users:

Go to 'View' View Data-path. Click on ‘Change path’ in front of ‘Backup Path’.

Periodic Auto Backup window will be opened, select the destination path for backup & proceed.

  How to set common backup path for all the copies of the Software?

Backup path will be set to the common path automatically for all the copies of the software if those software copies have a common data-path (for the procedure to set common data-path, click here).  If backup path is changed in any one of the software copy, then the backup path of all other linked copies will be also changed automatically.

However, if all the copies don’t have common data-path then set backup path in each copy to a common folder.

  How to free up the disk space?    OR    ‘Cannot Backup’ error message popup while closing software.

This message is due to space issue for backup. Check the space in winman_backup, Winman's mir bkup and external_backup.

Note: Mirror backup path will not be set to C drive nor in software installed drive. It will be taken in other free drive. If the space issue is due ‘Winman’s mir bkup’ and if that drive is system reserved or full, then change the drive letter or create one more partition.

  The storage of my PC is full due to ‘Winman’s External Backup files’. How to free up the disk space?     OR  Can I delete / move Winman’s ‘External backup’ folder to any external storage device like CD / DVD / Pen drive / Portable hard disk?

If two or more folders are created within the external_backup folder, you can delete the older files by checking their creation dates.

Winman’sexternal_backup’ folder is created to assist you to store the backup files in an external storage device like CD/DVD/Pen drive/Portable hard disk at periodic intervals to avoid loss of data on account of hard disk failure. Hence, you can move the entire ‘external_backup’ folder to any external storage device and free up the disk space.

If you are still facing the same issue change the External Backup path, please follow the below-mentioned procedure:

To set External Backup path to local/external drive

  Go to the ‘Tools’ menu Periodic Auto Backup’.

  In the ‘Periodic Auto Backup’ tab, select ‘External Backup’ option.

  Click on ‘Browse’ and select any local or external drive and then click on ‘OK’.

 

  In which folder the back-up files are stored by the software?    OR    How to take Back-up of files to any external storage devices like Pen drive / Portable hard disk?

          In Winman CA-ERP/GST,

Go to ‘View’ menu ‘View Data-path’

         

In Winman TDS,

Go to ‘Tools’ menu Others ‘View Data-path’

         

Data-path, Backup path and Application path (not available in Winman TDS) will be displayed as shown in the picture.

  If you want the latest backup data, click on  picture given against ‘Data-path’ and copy ‘Winman_Data’ to required external device.

  If you want backup data of a particular period, click on  picture given against ‘Backup Path’ and copy ‘Buck1’, ‘Buck2’, ‘Buck3’ or ‘Buck4’ as required to required external device.

  How to surrender the license before formatting / shifting the software?    OR    How to surrender the additional licenses?

In registered copy of the software, go to Tools’ menu Surrender Registration click on ‘Yes’ then click ‘Ok’. 

A document (Surrender code.rtf/.txt) will be generated and saved in desktop automatically, which contains the Surrender Key and the steps to register the software later using the Surrender Key. Follow the instructions provided therein.

Note: If server registration and additional licenses are used in network PC, then it needs to be surrendered in Server PC itself as per the above procedure.

  I want to surrender the license, but “Surrender Registration” option is not available in the software. Why?

If the software is an ‘Unregistered copy’, the option to ‘Surrender Registration’ will not be available.

  If you have a registered copy and want to shift the registration to another PC, then follow the ‘Surrender Registration’ procedure on the PC from which the registration needs to be transferred. To know the procedure, click here.

  In case the registered copy is unavailable and the software needs to be registered, click here.

  How to install software after formatting?

Winman’s Write and Delete’ folder which has been backed up by you before formatting contains ‘WinTaxSetup.exe’ (for Winman CA-ERP) / ‘WinTdsSetup.exe’ (For Winman TDS). Double click the ‘.exe’ file to install the software. If the same is not available, click here to download the software.

  Software is displaying as ‘Unregistered Copy’.    OR    How to get registration / activation key for Unregistered copy of the Software?    OR    How to register the software after the PC being formatted or changed?    OR    Error message appears as “Error encountered while performing registration”.

Software will display the text ‘Unregistered Copy’ in following cases. Registration process is mentioned therein.

  License is surrendered:

If the license is surrendered using 'Tools' menu ‘Surrender Registration’. Click here for the procedure to register the software again.

  Hard disk crash/PC is formatted or changed (license is not surrendered):

In such case, to obtain registration code, please mention the reason for not surrendering the license (i.e., about hard disk crash or formatting/changing of PC) in the query and send through ‘Query manager’.

  New additional license Purchased:

In case of online payment, go to 'Help' menu Registration select ‘Online’ option enter 6 or 8 digit serial number of existing software copy against ‘I have Surrender key/Access Code’ click on ‘Register’.

If payment is done through a mode other than ‘Online payment through Winman’, you need to send payment details to us using 'Help' menu ‘Send Payment Details’.

  Software is installed but not Purchased/Registered:

Software will be displaying as ‘Unregistered Copy’ if software is installed but not purchased/registered. To buy license, go to 'Help' menu ‘Buy now’.

To register, go to 'Help' menu Registration select required option.

  Other than above reasons:

Please mention the reason for un-registration in your query and send it through 'Query manager'.

  How to re-register the software using Surrender Key after formatting or changing PC?

After formatting, when you open the software in same PC for the first time, a message relating to re-registration will appear. Click ‘Yes’ to register. Alternatively, you can follow the below mentioned steps to re-register:

In case of re-registration in different PC,

  For PC having internet connection:

Step 1: Go to ‘Help’ menu in the software ‘Registration’.

Step 2: Select ‘Online’ option enter the Surrender key against ‘I have Surrender key/Access Code click on ‘Register’. Winman CA-ERP/Winman TDS will get registered automatically.

  For PC not having internet connection:

From a PC having internet connection, send the ‘Surrender key’ and 'Computer Key’ through ‘Query manager’ tool available under ‘Help’ menu or click  picture. ‘Registration Key’ will be communicated to you.

Note: However if license is not surrendered before formatting or changing PC (due to hard disk crash or formatting of PC), mention the same and send the query through ‘Query manager’.

Recovery procedure of data differ from case to case

Case 1: If C drive (windows OS drive) is corrupted, click here for the recovery procedure.

  How to re-register the software when the Hard disk has crashed / PC is formatted without Surrendering Registration?

PC having internet connection:

To obtain Re-registration Key, send a query through ‘Query manager’ tool available under ‘Help’ menu of the software or click  picture. Mention the reason for not surrendering the registration.

PC not having internet connection:

Open the software, go to ‘Help’ menu   ‘Registration’. Copy the ‘Computer Key’. From a PC having internet connection send the ‘Computer Key’ by mentioning the reason for not surrendering the registration, through ‘Query manager’ tool available under ‘Help’ menu of the software or click on  picture.

After verification of the genuineness of the request Registration Key will be communicated to you.

  How to recover data in case of Hard disk crash?

Please check if any of the following is available:

  Latest/Old backup data

  Data stored in any other Computer, Pen drive etc.

  Downloaded/saved e-return file

If data stored in any other computer or pen drive, click here for the procedure to recover data.

If you have any backup data (Old backup or new backup), click here for the procedure to recover data.

For Winman CA-ERP:

If JSON / XML file is saved in computer, you can import data from JSON / XML file. Go to ‘Tools’ menu Import from ITR JSON/XML ‘Import only’.

Select the path of the folder in which JSON / XML is saved in ‘e-Return folder’, select the Assessment year and click ‘Start’.

If you do not have JSON / XML file saved in your PC, JSON / XML files can be downloaded from IT website and can be imported to the software. Go to ‘Tools’ menu ‘Import from ITR JSON/XML’ ‘Download & import’. But login ID and password is necessary to download JSON / XML. (If password is not available, use ‘Forgot password’ option and recover the same)

If any of the above said method is not applicable, then please contact your hardware person to recover the corrupted hard disk.

We strongly recommend you to backup data regularly. You can also store all your files in cloud storages like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive etc. To know more, click here.

Note: We do not store any data in our server. The entire data, backup and all other information will be stored in User PC only.

For Winman TDS:

If no backup is present in the system, you can import the file through e-Return.

As the Revised File Validation Utility of NSDL creates encrypted FVU files which can be accessed only by using NSDL, the data cannot be imported from the new version of FVU files. However, you can import the data using the ‘.txt’ file (refer below picture) which is created while generating the e-return.

 

To import the data from ‘.txt’ file, go to ‘File’ menu ‘Import from e-return file’ ‘Import’.

This menu allows you to import data from ‘.txt’ file generated in any software, Consolidated FVU file and old version FVU file (version No. 3.2 or earlier).

You can download the Consolidated FVU file by using 'Online' menu 'Consolidated FVU file'  'Download FVU file'.

To import the Consolidated FVU file for the revised return, go to 'File' menu ‘Revised return data-entry’ 'Import conso file'.

  Windows Drive is corrupted. How to install the software?

Open folder where software was installed earlier (Default path will be "D:\Winman\Winman CA-ERP" or "D:\Winman\Winman TDS") right click on wintax.exe (or winTds.exe) send to Desktop (create shortcut)

  The hard-disk in which software is installed is corrupted. How to recover data / install software?

Open the PC where you want to install the software go to www.winmansoftware.com ‘Downloads’ tab under ‘Express Installation’, click on Winman CA ERP & GST’ or Winman TDS’. After downloading the file, double click to install.

After installation, go to ‘Tools’ menu Options ‘Data Path’ in software. Set the data path to the network PC where Winman data is saved.

If network PC itself is corrupted, click here for the recovery procedure.

If the software is displaying as ‘Unregistered Copy’, send a request through ‘Query manager’.

  The hard disk in which Winman data is saved is corrupted. Software is installed in another PC. How to recover data?

·         Files having text name *.tax in the corrupted hard disk

Copy and paste Winman_Data folder to drive of new hard disc where you want to save data permanently [Note: Winman recommends that data folder should be kept in Non-Windows drive (Other than C)]

If Data path already exists or some files are already present in data folder, rename the recovered files folder as 'Winman_Data' and paste in data path drive (To know in which drive the data exists, click on ‘Tools’ Options’ and note the drive in ‘Data Path’)

Click on Tools’ Options’  browse the recovered data folder and click ‘OK’.

Note: If files could not be recovered from corrupted hard disk, then try to get the above folders/files from external backup, if done earlier.

Open the registered copy of the software in the PC in which it is installed, go to ‘Tools’ menu Utilities ‘General’ tab select ‘To open software in network PC (LAN)’ click ‘OK’.

  Can I open more than one CA-ERP / TDS files to work on at the same time?

Yes. You can concurrently open many files by opening the multiple copies of the software with a single installation/license. In other words, the software works like MS Office, wherein you are allowed to open/edit multiple files at the same time. You can open any number of copies in one PC.

To open multiple copies of the software:

Double click on the shortcut on your desktop or 

        Go to ‘File’ menu ‘Open another CA-ERP’/‘Open another Winman TDS’.

  How can I digitally sign the IT computation?

To digitally sign the IT computation, first you need to install/import PFX file. Double click on the PFX file and install it.

After installation, open CA-ERP file, export the IT computation data to Excel using ‘Export to Excel’ option and save the Excel. Now, in the Excel file click on to ‘Office button’ Prepare ‘Add a Digital Signature’.

  How can I digitally sign the PDF files using ‘.pfx’ file? (available only in Winman TDS)

To digitally sign the PDF files using ‘.pfx’ file, go to ‘Tools’ menu in the software ‘PDF Digital Signer’ ‘‘pfx’ file’ select required form. In the following window fill necessary details and click ‘Sign’. Further, you can change the position of digital signature in your PDF file by selecting required option under ‘Signature Display settings’.

‘First Page-Top’ indicates signature at the top of the first page of the PDF.

‘Last Page-Bottom’ indicates signature at the bottom of the last page of the PDF.

Further, you can also set the left and top margin as per your requirement.

  How can I digitally sign the PDF files using USB Token? (available only in Winman TDS)

To digitally sign the PDF files using USB token:

  Go to Tools menu PDF Digital Signer USB Token select required form. Winman PDF signer’ window will be opened.

  Against ‘Source folder’, browse the folder containing PDF files which needs to be signed

  Against ‘Target folder’, browse the folder where the digitally signed PDF files are to be saved

  To change the position of digital signature in your PDF file select required option under Settings

o    ‘First Page-Top’ indicates signature at the top of the first page of the PDF

o    ‘Last Page-Bottom’ indicates signature at the bottom of the last page of the PDF

o    Left and Top options are provided to set the margin      

  Click Sign

  Choose the required certificate click Ok enter the password click Ok.

  While updating Chrome, error appears as "An error occurred while checking for update etc..."    OR    While using any Chrome related features, error appears as "Missing File Error- Unable to find locale data files. Please reinstall”.

Please uninstall existing Chrome browser and install the full-fledged version of Chrome.

To do so, go to 'Tools' menu Utilities under 'Repair' tab select '18. Uninstall Programs window' click ‘OK’. Uninstall the ‘Google Chrome’ program shown in the list.

Then, access the page https://www.google.com/chrome/ and click ‘Download Chrome’.

  How to clear Winman CAERP / GST related cache in Chrome browser?    OR    Online features of the Software are not working in Chrome. Is there an option in the Software to clear Chrome cache? (Not available in Winman TDS) 

To delete Chrome cache, go to Tools menu in the software Utilities Repair select option '44. Delete Chrome Cache'.

A confirmation message will appear. Select 'Yes' to delete all users' cache, 'No' to delete cache related to current user only.

Note: The Working of online feature in Chrome will be slow for first time after deleting the Chrome cache.

  How to install Dropbox?

  How to install software on cloud?    OR   Is Winman compatible with Cloud platform?

Winman data can be kept in cloud platforms like Dropbox, Google drive, etc. But as of now, due to some technical issues, Software cannot be installed on cloud platform.

To install cloud storage for storing Winman data, please contact your IT personnel. After the cloud storage installation, set the Data-path of the software to the newly installed cloud storage location.

  Can CA-ERP / TDS files be saved in secure online location?    OR    How to save Winman Data in Cloud?    OR    How to set Dropbox as data-path?

You can store all your files including CA-ERP/TDS files in a secure online server and access it from any computer anywhere in the world through Internet. In simple words, cloud storage is a way to save information in the web. In order to save the CA-ERP/ TDS files in Cloud, you need to install the cloud storage application in your PC. There are numerous cloud storage services available, such as:

Google Drive, Skydrive, Dropbox, OneDrive etc.

Dropbox is commonly used cloud storage service with 2 GB free space. Click here for the procedure to install Dropbox.

To set Dropbox as data-path:

  Open the software and press ‘F7’ or go to ‘Tools’ Options Browse and select your Dropbox folder in ‘Select/enter Data Folder Location’ click ‘OK’.

  Open your Dropbox folder and check whether CA-ERP/TDS data files are created. Then check the status of Dropbox in system tray.

  Dropbox will synchronise all files to cloud and you can recover your CA-ERP/TDS data easily. Older versions of current files and Deleted files can also be viewed there.

Similarly, other cloud storage services may be used as data-path.

To install cloud storage on your system, please contact your IT personnel. After the installation, synchronize the data with the cloud storage, and once synced, set the Data-path to the cloud storage location.

  Advantages of cloud storage are:

  Files saved on internet are more secure

  Lower risk of losing your data in case of computer failure, theft etc.

  Automatic backup

  Previous versions of your files can be obtained

  Deleted files can be recovered easily

  How to communicate the changes in address / contact details to Winman office?    OR    I have to update my profile with Winman.    OR    How to change the registered details in Winman?    OR    I want to update the details such as address / contact details / e-mail ID etc. in the invoice issued by Winman.

The data required for invoice will be taken from the profile details updated in Winman records. Submit a request through the software. Go to Help menu Edit my profile with Winman.

The changes will be updated in our records within 1 working day.

  How long will it take for the Customer Care Desk to answer a Query?   OR   How priority is set by the Customer Care Desk to respond to a Query?

If all the following conditions are met, then the query will have first priority.

  Unable to save the file in server due to permission or storage issues.

Due to insufficient permission or space to save the file in server, you may get the message as shown in below picture:

  How to share Winman’s folders?    OR    How to set permission for Winman’s folders through the Software?

Option to share Winman related folders and set folder permission is given in the Software itself. Go to Tools menu Share Winman folders,

  Select ‘Permission Only’ - To set only permissions.

Further, select ‘Manually’ or ‘Automatically’ as applicable.

  How to change the colour of the cells / windows in Winman CA-ERP?

In ‘Computation’ window, go to ‘Tools’ menu ‘Others’ ‘Color Settings’ select required colour using the arrow buttons given at the top right of the window click ‘Apply and close’.

  Can I upgrade only main license without upgrading additional licenses?   OR    I have more than one additional license, can I upgrade only few of them along with the main license?

No. When you upgrade the main license, the additional licenses will be automatically upgraded.

To avail GST Input Tax Credit (ITC), please update your GSTIN in 'Winman Profile'.

To update GSTIN, go to Help menu in the software ‘Edit my profile with Winman.

Your GSTIN will be updated in our records within 3 days and the same will be mentioned in the Invoice issued by us to enable you to claim GST Input Tax Credit (ITC). Please note, the GSTIN cannot be updated to the invoice, which is already generated.

  How to search a CA-ERP file using PAN or part of a PAN?      OR    How to search the CA-ERP / GST file of an Assessee?    OR    How to search a GST file using GSTIN or part of a GSTIN?    OR    How to search a CA-ERP file using File number?

To search CA-ERP/GST files, either click on  picture in the menu bar or go to ‘File’ menu ‘Search / Open files’. To search file from data path, backup path or any other folder, you can use ‘Advanced Search of files’ under ‘Tools’ menu.

You can search and open a CA-ERP/GST file using the following options:

·         File name or part of the file name or folder name

·         PAN/GSTIN or part of the PAN/GSTIN

·         File number

The option to search the CA-ERP/GST file using part of the PAN/GSTIN will be very helpful when any e-mail communication is received from the department, in which the Assessee name or full PAN/GSTIN is not available. In such cases, you can enter the part of the PAN/GSTIN in the ‘File list/Open/Search’ or ‘Search Winman Files’ (in case of 'Advanced Search Files') window and easily find the relevant CA-ERP/GST file.

If PAN as per notice is 'ABC*****4F', enter either 'ABC*****4F' or 'ABC*4F' or 'A*F'.

If GSTIN as per notice is '29A**********Z1', enter either '29A**********Z1' or '29A*Z1' or '29*1' or '2*1'.

 

  I have updated the GSTIN in my profile with Winman. Whether it will be updated in the Invoice issued by Winman?

Your GSTIN will be updated in our records within 3 days and the same will be mentioned in the Invoice issued by us. However, you can make the payment and get registration key immediately after updating GSTIN in the profile.

Please note, the GSTIN cannot be updated to the invoice, which is already issued to you. As we provide the digitally signed e-invoice, we are not able to make the modification to the invoice. However, while filing your return, you can claim GST Input Tax Credit (ITC) on the basis of the invoice issued by us.

 

  I have forgotten my Winman login ID and password, how to make payment for Winman license / renewals?

Your registered e-mail ID is the login ID for Winman login.

If you have forgotten the password, enter your registered e-mail ID in the login window and click ‘Forgot password’. Password will be sent to your e-mail ID.

 

  What is the limit for saving GST files or generating GST returns using an unregistered copy of Winman GST?    OR    Why GST return generation or file saving is not allowed in unregistered copy of Winman GST? (available only in Winman GST)

Using an unregistered copy of Winman GST,

   For Winman CA-ERP customers,

  Files can be saved for 20 unique GSTINs

  100 e-returns can be generated for 5 different GSTINs for different tax periods

   For Other than Winman CA-ERP customers,

  Files can be saved for 5 unique GSTINs

  25 e-returns can be generated for 5 different GSTINs for different tax periods

Please note:

·         For a GSTIN, for particular tax period, even if e-returns are generated more than once (same GSTR or different GSTR), it will be considered as 1 e-return.

·         After generating e-return, even if it is not saved in GST site, the return will be considered. However, re-generating of the return for same will not be considered as new return.

·         Once the above mentioned limit is crossed, you will not be allowed to save the file or generate return.

·         In cases where a new CA-ERP Sl.No is installed after the existing Sl.No has been removed, GST complementary will not apply.

·         If the license is transferred to another PC by surrendering the existing license, the GST complementary will not be available.

  How to get Registration Key?    OR    How to send Computer key of software installed in different PC for registration?

  To obtain the Registration Key,

Open the software in the PC in which you want to register/upgrade the software. Send a request to register/upgrade using ‘Query manager’ tool available under ‘Help’ menu of the software or click on  picture. The computer key will be automatically sent along with the request.

  If Software is not installed in the PC,

If software is not installed in the PC where you want to register the software, click here for installation procedure. After installation, send request (from concerned PC) to register the software using 'Query manager' tool under 'Help' menu.

  How to re-register the software after shifting to new PC?    OR     How to change the PC in which the software is installed?

Open the software in the PC in which it is registered. Go to ‘Tools’ menu ‘Surrender Registration’. A document containing Surrender Key will be generated. Follow the instructions provided in the document.  Re-register the software after shifting to new PC using the ‘Surrender Key’.

Note: If multiple copies of the software (additional Licenses) are installed in a PC (i.e., CA-ERP server PC), then surrender procedure to be done in Server PC as per the above procedure.

  How to Share a folder / drive in Windows?

Sharing procedure: For Windows Vista/7 and above, Windows Server 2008 and above

  Right click on the Folder or Drive you want to share

  Click on ‘Properties’

  Select ‘Sharing’ tab

  Click ‘Advanced Sharing’

  Tick ‘Share this folder’

  Click on ‘Permissions’ Tab

                      

  Under ‘Permissions for Everyone’, tick ‘Allow’ for ‘Full Control’

 

  Click ‘OK’ twice

  Follow the below steps, only if, ‘Security’ tab is available

·         Open ‘Security’ tab

·         Click ‘Edit’

    

·         Under ‘Group or user names’, select ‘Everyone’

·         If 'Everyone' is not in the list then click ‘Add’

·         Type ‘Everyone’, under ‘Enter the object names to select’

·         Click ‘OK’

·         Under 'Permissions for Everyone', tick 'Allow' for 'Full control'

·         Click ‘OK’ twice.

Note: Software needs to be closed and re-opened for the sharing changes to take effect.

 

Sharing procedure: For Windows XP, Windows Server 2003

  Right click on the Folder or Drive you want to share

  Click on ‘Properties’

  Select ‘Sharing’ tab

  Below ‘Network sharing and security’ heading, click on the text ‘If you understand the security risks but want to share files without running the wizard, click here’

             

  Click on ‘Just enable file sharing’ and click on ‘OK’

                   

  Under ‘Network sharing and security’, tick ‘Share this folder on the network’

  Tick 'Allow network users to change my files'

                                     

  Click ‘OK’

 

               Note: Software needs to be closed and re-opened for the sharing changes to take effect.

  How to share the files of Winman software through e-mails?    OR    Error appears as – ‘Invalid format’ for the files transferred through e-mails    OR    Unable to send file through 'Query manager' due to large size of the files    OR    Runtime error while sending file through Query manager.

Winman tax files can be transferred through e-mail. However, if you want to send the files to Winman customer care, then it can be sent through ‘Query manager’ tool also. Ensure to zip the file before sending files through e-mail/Query manager. Otherwise, there are possibilities of files getting corrupted.

  How to convert Desktop licenses to Server license?

Server edition working:

Winman CA-ERP / TDS Server Edition license should be installed on a server computer.

Client PCs can access the software over LAN without the need to install it on each individual client PC.

Step 1: Set common Data-path

  How to check whether software license is 'Desktop' or 'Server'?

To check the License type, go to 'Help' menu 'About'. License Type will be given as 'Server' or 'Desktop' as shown in below picture.

          

  How to shift database of MIS from Microsoft Access to Microsoft SQL server or vice versa? (Not available in Winman TDS)

Go to Tools menu Database Settings select required type of database in the appearing window.

If you select ‘Microsoft SQL server’, you will be asked to select the SQL server to be used.

  New SQL server: A new SQL Server will be downloaded & installed in the PC.

  Existing SQL server: If you select ‘Existing SQL server’, available SQL server details will be searched and 'Authentication type', 'Username', 'Password' and other details will be auto-filled. Click 'Next'.

To enter the SQL server details manually, tick the check box 'Enter SQL server details manually'.

  Enter database folder path and click 'Next' to proceed.

Note: The changes done in Winman CA-ERP will be automatically updated in Winman GST or vice versa.
